Welcome
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are pleased to announce the 14th edition of our Onychology Course that we hope, will be virtual for the last time. It will be broadcasted from Brussels, on October 22nd & 23rd, 2021.
Last year session was already held virtually, including the live transmission of nail surgery from the OR, and it was a real success. Exchanges are possible, although less so, but interactivity is very present.
You will find below the program that we have prepared for you. We are pleased to welcome this year, Prof. Bianca Maria PIRACCINI (Bologna, Italy), Dr Matilde IORIZZO (Lugano, Switzerland) and Dr André LENCASTRE (Lisbon, Portugal) as invited speakers.
As you can see, there are short modules of 1.5 hours, of different levels (elementary, advanced and all levels) spread over the two days. You will be able to make an “à la carte” selection.
A few days before the course, you will receive a virtual link to the sessions you have selected and paid for. Be sure to pay your registration on time, as registration will close on Wednesday October 20th at noon (CEST).
A European and Belgian accreditation has been requested.
We are already looking forward to seeing many of you behind your screens on October 22nd & 23rd!
Best regards,
Josette ANDRÉ & Bertrand RICHERT

History
The inter-academic courses of onychology were created in order to meet the need of dermatologists interested in advancing their clinical and/ or surgical skills in nail pathology.
The three founding Members are passionate about onychology and teaching: Josette André, Nadine Lateur and Bertrand Richert.
Since 2008, there have been bi-annual courses (one in English, one in French) offered over two days (Friday and Saturday).
Friday morning is dedicated to nail physiology and basic nail pathology. This session is aimed at introducing the novice to basic concepts in nail diseases.
Friday afternoon is devoted to nail surgery on a large screen, live from the operating room. The audience may at any time intervene and ask questions to the surgeon or even to the patient.
Saturday is devoted to expert lectures delivered by a new speaker each year. Part of the day is reserved for interactive discussions by the experts and participants encouraged to bring their own cases.
